Cheyenne Mountain Zoo

Okay, first off, open this link and watch it while reading this post: Giraffe Cam.

Now that we got that going for us, let’s discuss the important matters. I love animals. You may be reading this thinking, “Ryan, you already talked about the zoo in Colorado.” However, that was the Denver Zoo. This one is different! It is farther from the city, but do you see those giraffes moving to the right of the screen? They are moving to a platform where the visitors are able to feed them ($3 for a bundle of lettuce, or two for $5). That is so awesome, and I guarantee that within the next two months I will have my hand on a giraffe’s head, petting him with the hugest smile on my face. Besides feeding the giraffes, the zoo also allows visitors a truly unique experience, seeing Red River hogs, okapi, zebras, Siberian (now Amur) tigers, alligators, wallabies, kangaroos, Thorny devils, elephants, and rhinos (which you can also feed some days if you’re lucky). If you remember, the Denver Zoo began by the gift of a black bear cub to the mayor at the time, which coincidentally enough, is the same reason the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo began. This zoo is one of the most interactive zoos in the country, and allows people to really get up close to some of the animals that they must admire from afar at other zoos. Their exhibits are consistently making improvements to allow visitors the best experience possible, and it is surely going to be a good time. I will wave for the camera while I’m feeding my giraffe. (Giraffe Cam, just in case you closed it.)
